SJC Parks & Recreation Recognized as a Certified Autism Center

In April 2024, we partnered with the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) to become a Certified Autism Center™ (CAC). To earn this designation, our staff completed position-specific professional development to ensure they follow best practices for supporting autistic and sensory-sensitive individuals. This ongoing training helps our team provide better service and more inclusive experiences for every visitor.
As part of the certification process, IBCCES conducted an on-site review of our location to identify specific opportunities to enhance accessibility. IBCCES also developed Sensory Guides to provide detailed insight into the sensory experiences across the property, helping guests plan their visit around their unique needs.
