The school hosts Five Questions with Community Leaders: Connecting Students and Community.
At The Arc of the St. Johns, Inc., they believe that meaningful community connections create opportunities for everyone to learn, grow, and thrive. As one of Florida’s largest Arc organizations, they provide a wide range of educational, therapeutic, behavioral, residential, and community-based services for children, adults, and families impacted by intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The Arc was honored to welcome St. Johns County Commissioner Krista Joseph, District 4, to participate in this special initiative. Their willingness to spend time with students, clients, and staff, share their experiences, and engage in meaningful conversation reflects the spirit of community partnership The Arc strives to foster every day.
Joseph participated in the Arc’s Five Questions with Community Leaders. An initiative developed by students at the St. Johns Community Campus, one of the two tuition-free public charter schools, as a fun and engaging way to explore civics, strengthen communication and social skills, and build relationships with the people who help shape our community. Through lighthearted interviews, our students have the opportunity to ask questions, showcase their unique personalities and talents, and get to know local leaders beyond their official roles.
These interactions are about so much more than an interview. They build confidence, encourage self-advocacy, strengthen community connections, and are a reminder that everyone has something valuable to contribute.
